About Monarch Licenses

All Monarch licenses are 1 key per device. There are 3 different license types. Every license type has access to all of the core features of Monarch. To see which edition of Monarch you purchased, please check your email to see which version you purchased.

Freya Edition

This is the standard edition of Monarch. It is a perpetual license, meaning that it gives you all updates for the major version that you purchased. So if you purchased Monarch during v2.0.0, then you will get all updates, new features, and bug fixes for any version that starts with v2.x.x. Once Monarch reaches v3.0.0, you can optionally upgrade your licenses individually for $15 USD. Choosing not to upgrade will have no effect on your usage, and you can keep that version of Monarch forever. Freya Edition licenses are perpetual software licenses. From Wikipedia:
In the licensing of software products, a perpetual license means that a software application is sold on a one-time basis and the licensee can then use a copy of the software forever. The license holder has indefinite access to a specific version of a software program by paying for it only once.
You can upgrade any perpetual license into a lifetime version of Monarch. This means that you can take any Freya license and convert it to a Prompto license.

Prompto Edition

This is the lifetime edition of Monarch. It will be made available at a future date for those that missed out on the lifetime benefits provided by Luna, and for people who want access to every feature and development that comes from Monarch now and forever.

Luna Edition

This is the most powerful license, granted only to early adopters of Monarch. It is a lifetime license that gives you full access to every version of Monarch that releases, forever. The Luna edition allowed early users to take a bet on Monarch while riding out countless bug fixes and design changes. The Luna edition is no longer for sale as Monarch is now stable and no longer in beta. It is against the terms of service to resell them. It is not possible to upgrade a Luna Edition license because this is the highest tier license. There is nothing above it. The Luna Edition comes with additional benefits as thanks to everyone for taking a bet on Monarch before it was stable. Here are some of the benefits:

(1) This benefit is contingent upon Monarch making it to Windows development. Monarch is an ambitious mission as it is, and Windows development is not scheduled to start anytime soon. In the event that Monarch makes it this far, this benefit will automatically kick in for Luna license holders.
